Carla Eastis
Carla works with faculty members and college leadership to ensure a meaningful first-year experience for new Charlotte students through the university’s Prospect for Success (PFS) program. She coordinates and creates curriculum for the team that teaches First-Year Seminar in University College. Carla also creates and implements faculty development programs for PFS instructors across the university, and analyzes data on student learning outcomes and other measures of student success. Based on these analyses, she advises PFS implementation teams on continuous improvement of the program. Before joining UNC Charlotte in 2013, Carla worked at Catawba College as assistant professor of sociology and as director of institutional research. She is interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning with particular regard to the first-year experience.
